It’s been over a month since I posted here, turns out I’m not so great at the newsletter format. But I’d like to be! So here I am with a short rambling post, with no rate limit to exceed, no cost for free speech and no fucko buckos to tell me why I should worship a rich guy for all his alleged achievements.
Life has been extra exhausting lately, so this week I left my full time librarian position at the downtown library for a 6 month part time librarian position at a smaller branch. There are a wide variety of reasons for the switch (that you can ask me about one day over a drink or wait for my memoir) but even just after my first short week, I am enjoying small branch life even more than I thought I would. Being able to walk home (in the summer, I am not a hardcore winter walker) definitely helps, especially if I can swing by the Highlands shops while taking the long and warm way home along Ada Boulevard and dream about buying the the dilapidated green and pink house and have the Property Brothers transform it into something amazing.
I’m going to keep this short as I don’t really have anything to say today, but wondered if there’s anything you’d like to see more of here in future posts: Dear Feisty advice columns? Oatmeal musings? Dad Jokes? Magical realism stories about my life that could end up in a book one day? I’m open to all your ideas, even if I end up doing something completely different. I’ll leave you with some summer zen on this stormy day.

Work-life balance! It should be taught in schools! Maybe it is now but it sure wasn't when I was in high school. We were supposed to get out of school and get a job and give'er! Head down; ass up! Success was measured by your work and your your pay cheque. And don't waste your time with post secondary education. Ugh.
